Watch: Jazz musician Sarathy Korwar's new single Bol, from his upcoming album,
More Arriving

The song features poet Zia Ahmed and classical musician Aditya Prakash

US born, India-raised and London-based jazz musician and percussionist Sarathy Korwar released of a second single, Bol, from his much-awaited album, More Arriving. Bol features a performance by London-based poet Zia Ahmed, and Aditya Prakash’s classical Carnatic tunes. It explores themes of being a South Asian in an increasingly divided (Great?) Britain.

The single showcases a very different side to Korwar’s incredibly nuanced album, which draws on the voices of the Indian diaspora from various viewpoints, countries and continents. Spoken word verses blossom into Aditya Prakash’s classical Carnatic refrains in the chorus, with the tension built up and expertly released several times over it’s almost 10-minute run time. The video is based on the shorter radio edit.

The album, More Arriving, releases on July 26
